i love shooting weddings…some more than others. cat and brian’s wedding was definitely one of those special weddings that will stand out as a highlight during this year’s wedding season. there are many reasons why i enjoyed shooting their wedding but i would like to share just three:
1) it was an outdoor wedding. they are the bomb–in a good way. indoor weddings i always have to think twice about….but outdoor weddings i simply cannot refuse! they chose to have a morning wedding and the lighting was delectable. it started out overcast but turned into beautiful sunshine.
2) they are super chill. i seriously didn’t see anyone flip out at the wedding. (this is so rare!) they decided that they wanted a stress-free wedding…a day that they could plan months beforehand but then just sit back and enjoy–regardless of if things went “perfect” or not. my favorite part of this was that i was able to shoot nearly all of the formals before the wedding. the couple didn’t mind if they saw each other before the ceremony and this simple act made the rest of the day flow so smoothly!
3) everything was personalized. from handcrafted paper cranes, some of the couple’s favorite austinite food (including a coffee bar! whattheheckilovethesepeople!), all the way down to the TOMS shoes that their entire bridal party wore–everything had meaning behind it creating a very unique wedding!
overall, i am thankful and extremely honored to have been chosen to capture their amazing day. it was beautiful and most assuredly unforgettable for everyone that was there to celebrate with the savvy couple. if you want to read more about their story check out their blog. congrats mr. and mrs. nunnery!
